PR FESR MARCHE 21-27 ACTION 1.1.1 – CALL FOR PROPOSALS “RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TO INNOVATE THE MARCHE REGION” – Incentives for businesses to conduct industrial research and experimental development activities within the scope of the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy

PROJECT TITLE: DEMANU.GOAL – Demanufacturing for sustainable prototypes

THE PARTNERSHIP:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project aims to develop innovative furnishing solutions, with particular attention to the principles of the circular economy. The goal is to design and prototype sustainable and circular furnishings that use recycled or eco-sustainable materials and offer high performance in terms of durability, disassembly, and reusability. Industrial Research and Experimental Development activities focus on new materials and technologies to increase product circularity, the inclusion of demanufacturing practices in product design, end-of-life analysis of prototype solutions, and the research and development of a certification protocol for the circularity of supply chain processes. The project thus aims to contribute to the transition to more sustainable production models, improving the sector’s competitiveness and responding to new environmental and regulatory challenges at the European level.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Develop sustainable and circular furniture prototypes that integrate innovative demanufacturing practices.
  • Foster the development of innovative and circular products, reducing waste and their environmental impact.
  • Define protocols and tools to certify the circularity of products and supply chain processes.
  • Contribute to the transition to a circular economic model for the Wood-Furniture sector.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Creation of at least five eco-sustainable furniture prototypes for the different product types considered: kitchen, living and sleeping areas, mattresses.
  • Increasing circularity and reducing the environmental impact of products.
  • Development of a certification protocol for the circularity of products and processes for the wood-furniture supply chain.
  • Strengthening the competitiveness of the wood-furniture sector by increasing product circularity.
